Germencik is a place in Turkey's Aydın Province, in the middle of the fertile plain of the Büyük Menderes ( Great meander ). The motorway from Izmir to Aydin ( O31 ), as well as various train lines run through the city.

One count from 2010 to 43 346 people live in the district Germencik, of which 12,663 directly in the city.

The remains of the ancient city of Magnesia on the Meander located on the outskirts of Germencik.

In Turkey Germencik is one of the areas with the richest fig harvest. Olive growers and olive oil refineries are also located here numerous. A large part of the harvest, also cotton, quince, grapes and pomegranates, is exported.

In Germencik the currently largest geothermal power plant in Turkey is with a capacity of 47.4 MW.
