The Scholl -Schule ( short: GSS) in Tübingen is a university association with high school, junior high school and high school.

History

The school was founded in 1971 under the name School of Tübingen as a comprehensive school. She took advantage of that time still the spaces of today's elementary school on the sink. She later moved to its present building in Forest Homes Eastern District. In the late 1980s the comprehensive school was abolished and from it went today Scholl School emerged as the school network. The three types of schools exist under one roof, but separated structurally or organizationally.

Name

The name of the siblings Scholl School goes back to the siblings Hans and Sophie Scholl, who resisted against the Nazis as members of the White Rose. The school was initially the symbol of the white rose in their logo, today there are the silhouettes of Hans and Sophie.

Structure and profile

Around 850 students attend the high school ( school year 2004 /2005), 410 secondary school ( school year 2003 /2004). The teaching staff includes about 130 teachers.

The gymnasium of the siblings Scholl School offers four profiles: a science, a linguistic, a sports and a Fine Art profile.

Special

The siblings Scholl School since the summer of 1989 UNESCO project school, an award for special pedagogical and political commitment. In each school year project days are carried out in the spirit of UNESCO.
