Ghena Dimitrova

Gena Dimitrova (also Ghena Dimitrova, Bulgarian Гена Димитрова; born May 6, 1941 in Beglesch near Pleven, Bulgaria; † 11 June 2005 in Milan, Italy) was a Bulgarian opera singer.

She received her vocal training in Sofia and made his debut in 1965 at the Opera. In the following years she has performed at all major opera houses around the world. At the Salzburg Festival she sang 1984/85 Lady Macbeth in Verdi's Macbeth. The enforcement power of her voice came to bear, with which she successfully debuted at the Metropolitan Opera in New York in 1987, especially in the title role of Puccini's Turandot. Ghena Dimitrova was considered one of the leading dramatic sopranos.
