Ghosts, to November 2006, Polanski, Prodigal Sun before 2001, is a British indie pop band from London. In 2007 they succeeded with the album The World Is Outside UK breakthrough. The album reached number 18 in the British charts, the single release Stay the Night arrived in the United Kingdom Top 40 to position 25
History
The band was founded in 1996 by schoolmates under the name Prodigal Sun in Cranleigh. The members changed first, so met, among others, the bassist Robbie Smith and keyboardist Mark Treasure later the band added. Since 2001, she called Polanski. She celebrated her first commercially significant success only under the name of ghosts, they wear since October 2006 with the single Music Chair from the published only in the UK EP Tales from Studio Six. The single was the iTunes Single of the Week, and also the Guardian chose it for the single of the week. Ghosts went into the Top 10 of the BBC's Sound of 2007 poll. With the single Stay the Night from the album The World Is Outside they succeeded finally the breakthrough. The single made it to number 25 in March 2007, the album on 11 March 2007 at number 18 of the charts.
Style
The style of Ghosts is most comparable to that of other bands like Keane, Thirteen Senses, The Bluetones or Radiohead. 2003, when Keane celebrated their breakthrough, they were right after them as the biggest rising star of the British music scene.
