Giacomo Neri

Giacomo Neri ( born January 1, 1916 in Faenza, † May 6, 2010 ) was an Italian football player and coach.

Since there are several players admitted his playing days with the family name Neri, he appeared in statistics often than Neri II.

Career

Giacomo Neri began his career in his hometown at Faenza Calcio. After a season in Rimini Calcio Right Wing moved at age 17 for the season 1933/34, for Series A newly promoted AS Livorno, with whom he again relegated to Serie B 1934/35.

For the season 1936/37, Neri was at the age of 20 years required by Juventus, for whom he scored the 6000th goal of the club's history. After only one year in Turin and table number five he was dismissed for disciplinary reasons from the trained Virginio Rosetta team and moved back to Livorno, where the Italians from 1937 to 1939 played in Serie A.

From 1939 to 1946, interrupted by the Second World War, Giacomo Neri stood at Genoa under contract. During this time he graduated under Vittorio Pozzo also three caps for Italy. Two against Switzerland and one against Germany, in which he succeeded his only international goal.

1946, the Right Wing of Inter Milan was obliged with whom he reached ten and twelve ranks in Serie A. In 1948, Neri moved for two years to Pescara Calcio, and rose with the club from the Abruzzo region directly in the C series from. After he finished his professional career at Neuchatel Xamax in Switzerland.

In his active career Giacomo Neri completed a total of 216 Serie A games in which he scored 53 goals.

In the 1950s, Neri worked as a coach. From 1951 to 1954, he oversaw the U.S. Alessandria, with which he rose to the B series.

Giacomo Neri died on 6 May 2010 at the age of 94 years in his home town of Faenza. Until his death he was the oldest living national player of Italy.
