Giampiero Gloder

Giampiero Gloder ( born May 15, 1958 in Asiago ) is a Roman Catholic titular archbishop and president of the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy.

Life

Giampiero Gloder received on 21 May 1983, the sacrament of Holy Orders for the diocese of Padua. After joining the diplomatic service of the Holy See, he served as Secretary of the Nunciature in Guatemala.

Pope Francis appointed him on September 21, 2013 Titular per hac vice of Telde and as President of the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy. The pope personally gave him and Jean -Marie Save on 24 October of the same year, the episcopal ordination. It was the first of Francis after his election as Pope donated episcopal ordination. Co-consecrators were the Bishop of Padua, Antonio Mattiazzo, and the archbishop of Strasbourg, Jean -Pierre Grallet.
