Gil Island (Canada)

Gil Iceland is a fundamentally uninhabited island in the Canadian province of British Columbia. It is located in the Hecate Strait between Iceland Pitt and Princess Royal Iceland. The island is 26 km long, 6-13 km wide and has a total area of 231 km ². In the surrounding waters, among other Great orcas are located.

On 22 March 2006 a ferry in the BC Ferries Queen of the North sank near Gil Iceland.
