Gilbert Aubry

Gilbert Guillaume Marie -Jean Aubry ( born May 10, 1942 in Saint- Louis, Réunion) is Bishop of Saint- Denis- de -La Réunion.

Life

Gilbert Aubry studied at the seminary of La Croix -Valmer and at the Pontifical Gregorian University. On August 23, 1970 he was ordained a priest for the diocese of Saint- Denis- de -La Réunion.

1975 Pope Paul VI appointed him. bishop of the diocese of Saint- Denis- de -La Réunion. The Episcopal ordination on May 2, 1976 donated him his predecessor Georges- Henri Guibert CSSP; Co-consecrators were the Bishop of Port-Louis, Mauritius, Jean Margeot, and the Bishop of Port Victoria o Seychelles, Félix Paul.

Gilbert Aubry was in 1998 pilgrims to the Marian shrine of Medjugorje Bosnia.

He was from 1989 to 1996 and from 2002 to 2006 Chairman of the Bishops' Conference of the Indian Ocean islands.
