Gilles De Bilde
Gilles De Bilde ( born June 9, 1971 in Zellik ) is a retired Belgian footballer.
Career
Association
The 1.80 m wide attacking players played in the youth at the Association Zellik sports in his hometown, separated by a short time at RSC Anderlecht 1984-1985. His first jobs in the men's area, he played for the club KHO Merchtem, for he 1989 was active. In 1992 he moved to Eendracht Aalst in the second Belgian League and was so professional. In 1994 he went with his club into the First Division. He soon developed in the Belgian first division top scorer, and was also elected in 1994 to Belgium Player of the year. From 1995 to 1997 he was active for RSC Anderlecht. He played there also very successful and was popular with the fans. He got them the nickname of " de ket " ( the chain).
The successful time in Anderlecht ended abruptly: De Bilde had his opponent Krist Porte missed in December 1996 in a league match against his former club Eendracht Aalst a slap in the face. The referee had not seen the assault. Porte was then due to the injuries sustained (fracture of the eye socket, nose and jaw ) long contest not a game. Here he again met Luc Nilis, but ( due to injury ), as de picture just a few games played (3). De Bilde came to four inserts ( no goals ) and still went back during the season to Sheffield Wednesday. Until his departure in 2001, however, he scored only three goals and Sheffield was far from the ski lifts. For the fans of Sheffield Wednesday he had a difficult relationship because he does not always had the merit of the followers of his promised themselves. Nevertheless, he was one of the "Much earners " in the team.
In 2001 he went back to Belgium and signed a contract with RSC Anderlecht. In the first division he played after that for SK Lierse ( 2003-2004). Subsequently, he moved first to Spain and spent a year later made a comeback in Belgium at amateur club KVC Willebroek Meerhof (2005-2007).
National
In 1994 he made his debut for the Belgian national team. Due to the incident in December 1996, his international career was interrupted. In June 1997, he played for the first time for the "Red Devils ". Initially, there was some hostility from the fans, but endured De Bilde and which decreased with time.
