Gillian Gowers

Gillian Gowers ( born April 9, 1964 in Horfield ) is a former badminton player from England.

Career

Her first big success was winning the bronze medal at the Badminton World Championships 1985 Mixed together with Nigel animal.

She won the Canadian Open on several occasions, namely 1984 and 1991, respectively, the women's doubles and mixed doubles. In the first Singapore Open, she won along with Gillian Clark the doubles competition with the ladies. This success could repeat both in 1992.

In 1992 she took part in the Summer Olympic Games in Barcelona, ​​but failed to win a medal there. For this, she won the following year in New Delhi along with Peter Axelsson the Badminton World Cup in mixed doubles.

At the national level, it has been repeatedly champion in women's doubles (1985-1991, 1993 and 1994) and in the mixed competition (1986, 1988, 1991 ) with different partners.
