Ginette Harrison

Ginette Harrison ( born February 28, 1958, † October 24, 1999 at Dhaulagiri ) was a British mountaineer.

Harrison studied medicine at the University of Bristol, specializing in high-altitude medicine. At the age of 25 she came to the Denali, the highest mountain in North America. He was the first of its series of the highest mountains of all continents. On Mount Everest, she stood as the second Briton, on October 7, 1993. 1995, she had both the Carstensz and the Kosciuszko version of the "Seven Summits" completes.

In 1997 she boarded the Cho Oyu. Her biggest success was probably the ascent of Kangchenjunga on the north wall on May 18, 1998. She was the first woman at the top of this eight -thousand. In the same year she was able to climb the central summit of Shisha Pangma. In 1999 she boarded the first Makalu before they died in an avalanche on Dhaulagiri.

She was married to Gary Pfisterer, whom she had met on their expedition to Mount Everest.
