Giovanni Sforza

Giovanni Sforza ( born July 5, 1466 Pesaro; † July 27, 1510 ibid ) was the illegitimate son of Costanzo Sforza I. ( 1447-1483 ) and Fiora bonuses, the beloved of his father. He was the grandson of Alessandro Sforza (1409-1473), both lords of Pesaro. He was Vicar of Church and Lord of Pesaro. He ruled the city from 1483 to 1500 and again from 1503 to 1510.

Giovanni married on October 27, 1489 in his first marriage Maddalena Gonzaga (* 1472 in Mantua, † January 8, 1490 in Pesaro ), the daughter of Federico I Gonzaga, Marquis of Mantua, and his wife Margherita, Duchessa di Baviera Monaco. To celebrate this occasion led the Jewish community of Pesaro at his own expense to the story of Judith and Holofernes.
