Girl Crazy is a U.S. movie musical of the film studio MGM in 1943, based on George Gershwin's eponymous Broadway template.

Action

The plot is largely identical to the premiere of the musical, but the two main female roles were merged into a single role.

Background

During the beginning of the shooting days arose disputes between Busby Berkeley and the musical arranger Roger Edens. Berkeley, who has always been known for its extravagant dance numbers, demanded a large western -like final number while Eden wanted a simpler rhythm-driven music number. Roger Edens threatened with his termination, whereupon producer Arthur Freed Berkeley dismissed, not least because of the disputes between the director and Judy Garland.

The film cost 1.41085 million U.S. dollars and brought the MGM Studios $ 3,771,000 a.
