Gisbert zu Knyphausen

Gisbert zu Knyphausen ( born April 23, 1979 in Wiesbaden; Complete name: Gisbert Wilhelm Enno Freiherr zu Innhausen and Knyphausen ) is a German songwriter, singer and guitarist from Eltville - Erbach in the Rheingau Hesse.

Career

After a stay in Berlin Knyphausen studied music therapy in Nijmegen, Netherlands. In August 2005, he founded with Philip Heintze the indie label Omaha Records. In the following autumn he entered for the first time under his own name alone publicly, now he prefers the dynamics of a full band in most of his appearances. His debut album Gisbert zu Knyphausen appeared on 25 April 2008 at PIAS Germany. It contains both solo as well as accompanied with band songs. Knyphausens texts have a melancholy, but mostly hopeful character. As a musical and lyrical influences called Knyphausen ClickClickDecker, Sharam and Element of Crime. 2009 Knyphausen was awarded the HANS as the best hamburger artists. From October 2006 to April 2010 Knyphausen lived in Hamburg, then he moved to Berlin.

On 23 April 2010 he released his second album Hooray! Hurrah! So do not. , Which debuted at number 12 in the German album charts. On 29 October 2010 published Knyphausen together with Nils Koppruch a split-single containing the song bones and meat that had previously appeared on a compilation in favor of Hamburger Straße magazine Hinz & Kunzt. Reception
