Tele (Band)

Tele is a German rock / pop band from Freiburg, who is resident in Berlin.

Band History

Tele produced in 2000, the debut album itself in 1001 initially suspected you played the typical indie guitar sound and beat the song structure rather post a rocky paths.

In 2002, the record label Tapete Records Hamburg from the sales of the album ( Neupressung ) and released an EP with five new titles. 2004 there appeared also the second album What shall we live. In this album mainly German -language pop songs with background stories in the texts are included. The lyrics deal mostly with the individual (love ) life. With this album they secured then a record deal with Universal, and the single " falschrum " was the first video.

The music by Telemann contains some significant references to the sounds of the eighties, without being retrospectively. This applies among other things on the use of keyboard arrangements, as are eg Synth brass used.

Both for their second album, What are we supposed to live (release date: October 2004) as well as for the book published on 23 February 2007 third album, We do not need the producer and sound engineer Patrik Majer was responsible, who brought us the band we are heroes behind the regulators sat.

In June 2006, shortly before the completion of their third album, tele toured on behalf of the Goethe Institute by Africa (South Africa, Mozambique, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Zanzibar and Madagascar). In October 2007, Tele played (including the Berlin band Mia ) again on behalf of the Goethe Institute in China ( Nanjing).

On 9 February 2007, the band represented the state of Baden- Württemberg in the Federal Vision Song Contest with the title Mario and land by telephone viewer vote in 10th place

After the release of the single / EP The night is young (release date: May 15, 2009) and changing to the new (old ) country wallpaper records appeared on 5 June 2009 their fourth album Every animal, which in collaboration with Patrick Majer ( We are heroes ), Moses Schneider ( Beatsteaks, Tocotronic ), Pascal El Sauaf and Peter Schmidt ( clover, Blessed quarks ) was born.

In early 2011 the band released their first live album "Every Tour Live". The titles were from 19 - 21st February 2010 recorded in Hannover, Hamburg and Potsdam. So far, the CD is not commercially available but only in appearances.

  • On the " Wir sind Helden " CD " Take me home " plays Jörg Holdinghausen electric bass and accompanied the band since then as a bass player on tour
  • Sings on the CD of " Per Anders " and plays Jörg Holdinghausen all the instruments except the drums ( Pola Roy ) - guest singer Judith Holofernes
