Giuseppe Placido Nicolini

Giuseppe Placido Nicolini Maria OSB (born 6 January 1877 in Villazzano in Trento, † November 25, 1973 ) was a bishop and abbot of the Roman Catholic Church.

Life

On March 25, 1893 Nicolini put his profession on at a monastery in Genoa and received on 9 July 1899, ordained priest in the Benedictine Order. After studying theology at the Pontifical Athenaeum of Saint Anselm, he taught in Rome and became the abbot of Praglia Abbey. In 1919 he became abbot of the Abbey of Santissima Trinità di Cava de ' Tirreni. On 22 June 1928 he was appointed bishop of Assisi.
