Glatt group
The Glatt Group is a global leader in plant manufacturers, system suppliers and engineering companies in the processing and refining of powdered solids for food and animal feed, pharmaceutical and fine chemical industries.
History
Founded in 1954 by Werner Glatt, the company was initially active in the construction of stove pipes and ventilation systems. 1959 designed and installed Werner Glatt with a dozen employees, the world's first industrially useful fluidized bed system for the pharmaceutical industry. These systems have been continuously developed; came to dry granulation, then the coating and finally pelleting.
In the following years the company expanded and extended this segment also: 1971 Glatt AG was founded in Switzerland in 1973, Glatt Air Techniques ( GAT) in Ramsey, United States. The Smooth AG a second product family has been placed on the market: the drum coater.
Within a few years, other distribution companies were added in different countries: Smooth Pharmatech in France, Glatt Protech in the UK, Ireland and Glatt Glatt north in Denmark.
In 1989, Reinhard Nowak, the management of the company founder Werner Glatt. Was founded in 1991 in Weimar, the smoothness Engineering Technology (GIT). Almost simultaneously, the Glatt Systemtechnik (GST ) was registered in the commercial register in Dresden. Both companies brought new business into the smooth portfolio. Today, the company presents itself as an international group of companies and employs more than 1400 employees at the various locations.
Technologies
The core technology of the Glatt Group is the fluidized bed process ( fluidized bed) for drying, granulation, agglomeration, pelletizing and coating of solids. First used as a pure dryer was out of the fluidized bed apparatus by the use of appropriate nozzle systems a granulator and by corresponding developments a Partikelcoater. Today fluidized bed systems are available for both the batch and the continuous mode available. Other technologies include the wet granulation, and the film and sugar coating.

Provides services group of companies in the field of engineering and turnkey projects where the company plans and builds complete production facilities. Additional services are the product and recipe development as well as process development and optimization. Glatt also offers an independent platform for seminars, training and education in the form of the Technology Training Center ( TTC).

Built in 1983 sales and service center Glatt Pharmatech SASU (Dijon / France) was closed in 2013.

The Alliance is in addition to the Glatt yet from the company Bausch Stroebel, Fette Compacting, Harrogate Höflinger, Uhlmann and VisioTec, each of these companies is a leader in their field.
