Gláuber

Leandro Honorato Berti Gláuber called Gláuber, (born 5 August 1983 São José do Rio Preto ) is a Brazilian footballer.

Career

The 1.88 m tall defender played since his youth for the Brazilian club Palmeiras SE of São Paulo. On August 16, 2003, he debuted in the Erstligamannschaft Palmeiras. In the meantime, he also played with Atlético Mineiro before he first joined in January 2006 by Palmeiras on loan for a fee of 180,000 EUR to the end of the 2005/06 season in the Bundesliga 1 FC Nuremberg, although the club officials not quite were aware of the real performance. Therefore Manager Martin Bader described him as a " grab bag ". However, in the second half he soon replaced the injured Andreas Wolf and represented this convincing. For 500,000 Euro fee changed Gláuber effect from 2006 to the club and got a three-year contract until 2009. On 2 May 2007 announced the 1.FC Nuremberg, that the contract was prematurely extended until 30 June 2011.

In the season 2006/ 07 he was then from the beginning a regular player, but fell out towards the end of the first round and did not return until late in the season again back into the team. Nevertheless, he played a major role in the successful season of Nuremberg, which ended with winning the DFB Cup. However, the start of the following season went for the whole team next to him and Gláuber got a break, after, however, he regularly stood in the team. At the season's final spurt in the relegation battle, the coach of Heesen familiar but in a different root formation. At the end of the playing time of the descent of the 1st FC Nuremberg was in the 2nd Bundesliga. Then decided the 1st FC Nuremberg, do not pull a unilateral option for the descent case. The contract with Gláuber ended with the Bundesliga relegation.

End of August 2008 signed Gláuber a one-year contract with the English club Manchester City. He often sat on the bench, only came on the final day to a short-term mission, when he was a substitute in the home game against Bolton Wanderers in the 86th minute for Vincent Kompany.

After the season Gláuber was half a year without a club before he was taken in early 2010 by the Brazilian second division side AD São Caetano under contract.

For the 2010/11 season changed Gláuber free transfer to Rapid Bucharest.

In January 2013 Gláuber moved to Columbus Crew in Major League Soccer.

The 16 -time U-20 national team came on 27 April 2005 to his only previous application for the Brazilian national football team. 3-0 in a friendly against Guatemala he was substituted in the 81st minute.

Since his grandfather was Italian, gained Gláuber in April 2006 in addition to Italian citizenship.
