Description

The male flowers grow on 2-8, rarely to 10 mm long pedicles and have diameter of 9 to 10 millimeters. The base of the flower is between 2.5 and 3 millimeters wide, deep brown and hairy outside. The four sepals are triangular- lanceolate, about 3 mm long and hairy on both sides. The four petals are oblong, 4-5 mm long and hairy slightly fluffy. There are rarely formed from six to eight stamens usually. The rudimentary trained stamp is about 2.5 millimeters long. The hermaphrodite flowers grow to 2 to 5 millimeters long stems and have diameters of 10 to 12 mm. The sepals and petals are similar to those of male flowers, but are longer. The stem is 1 to 3.5 inches long, the flaps are leathery and often dusty mealy. The numerous seeds are brown, glossy, oblong or elliptic, 11-13 mm long and 8-9 mm wide.
