Glenfarclas is a distillery for whiskey in Ballindalloch, Moray, Scotland, United Kingdom.

History

Glenfarclas (Gaelic about: valley of green grass ) was founded in 1836 by Robert Hay 1844 and got to burn the license to whiskey. 1865, the distillery was sold to John Grant, whose descendants still own the distillery and this renovated 1896. In the years 1960 and 1976, the distillery for two to six stills today has been expanded.

Production

Produces ( tuns mash ) with two mash tuns (15 per tonne ) and twelve vats (wash backs) ( per 45,000 l) stainless steel, three wash stills each with 29,600 liters and ultimately three spirit stills, each with 25,000 liters, directly by gas be fired.

Products

The whiskeys of Glenfarclas be stored almost exclusively in former sherry casks ( Oloroso ). There is a very wide range of different bottlings from the distillery itself.
