Gloria al bravo pueblo

Gloria al bravo pueblo is the name and the starting line of the national anthem of Venezuela.

The lyrics were written by Vicente Saria and the melody and music by Juan José Landaeta. Both originated at about 1810. Both authors, both the poet and the composer, were executed in 1814 as insurgents. The future president Antonio Guzmán Blanco in 1881 confirmed the lyrics and melody for the national anthem.
