Gmina Jaworzyna Śląska - stands for community Jaworzyna Śląska (en: Municipality Königszelt ) and is an urban - rural community Gmina miejsko - wiejska, a typical for Poland administration unit, which consists of a town and several villages. It is located in the district Świdnicki / Lower Silesian Voivodeship.

Administrative seat of Gmina is the city Jaworzyna Śląska (en: Royal tent), which lies about 9 km north of Świdnica and 49 km south- west of the city of Wrocław.

In the years 1975 to 1998 belonged to the Province of Gmina Wałbrzych ( en: Waldenburg ), which merged in the course of municipal reform in today's Lower Silesian Voivodeship.

Naming

During the Seven Years' War in 1761, Frederick the Great had at Bolesławice ( en: Bunzelwitz ) moved into a fortified camp, which is also mentioned as a military camp to Bunzelwitz history. He stood with 50,000 troops against 132,000 soldiers of the allied Austrians and Russians. During the camp of the king lived temporarily in a tent. For this reason, it was later established near railway station the name of King tent. In memory of this camp was a memorial stone on the northern edge of the station.
