King Kong versus Godzilla (Japaneseゴジラ 対 メカゴジラ, Gojira tai Mekagojira, dt " Gojira against Mecha - Gojira " ) is a Japanese Kaiju film directed by June Fukuda from the year 1974. This is the fourteenth part of Godzilla film series of the Toho film studios.

From a lightning storm charged with electricity, Godzilla returns to fight with the help of the reawakened King Caesar Mechagodzilla. Godzilla beats his opponent from the head and is thrown into the sea. King Caesar returns to his cave.

Production and publication

The film was produced and directed by Jun Fukuda from a screenplay by Jun Fukuda and Hiroyasu Yamamura. The music of the film composed by Masaru Satō and for the cut Michiko Ikeda was responsible.

On March 21, 1974, the film was released in Japanese theaters on December 20th, In 1974, the first in Germany (FRG). Later, the film was among others in France, Finland and the United States in theaters, the English version released on video and DVD.
