Invasion of Astro-Monster

Command from the Dark (Japanese怪 獣 大 戦 争, Kaiju daisenso ) is a Japanese film directed by Ishiro Honda. This is the sixth part of the Godzilla series of the Toho Studios and the first film of the series in which from the outset an American ( Nick Adams) permitting.

Action

In the vicinity of Jupiter appeared on a new planet. This is Alpha 707 baptized ( in the U.S. version and the Japanese original Planet X). Two astronauts, the American Glenn Amer and Japanese Kazuo Fuji, are sent on a mission to this. There they meet sophisticated aliens who call themselves Alphas and who have fled for fear of the attacks of the monster Ghidorah under the planet's surface. To fight Ghidorah, the alphas ask people to give them the two Earth Monster Godzilla and Rodan. Once these have been brought to the planet of the aliens, a fight breaks out the three monsters against each other and the two astronauts fly with the supposed cure for cancer (as much for the " borrowing " of the monster) home. There, this turns out, however, as an ultimatum alien to humanity to retreat to the water-poor areas of the world, so that they can be colonized by the alphas. Otherwise, they would attack the Earth with the help of the now under its control three monsters. On Earth, meanwhile try disguised agents of the aliens to prevent the production of a portable alarm system, because their signals are fatal for the alphas. However, this does not succeed, and so is repelled the invasion with the help of this alarm and killed the aliens. The monster then brought three are not subject to control more and run amok. In the subsequent battle to defeat the two Earth Monster ( Godzilla and Rodan ) Ghidorah only to then plunge together into the sea.

Trivia

The idea that the aliens are defeated by certain sounds was recorded by Tim Burton in Mars Attacks.

Nick Adams ( Astronaut Glenn Amer ) and Kumi Mizuno (Miss Namikawa ) played the lovers not only on the screen, they were romantically involved in real life.

In the German version numerous monsters scenes were removed, including the famous scene in which Godzilla a pathetic level of joy dance on Planet X aufführte.
