Gogolewo, West Pomeranian Voivodeship

Gogolewo ( German Pegelow ) is a village in the west of the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship and is part of the rural community Marianowo ( Marienfließ ) in Stargardzki powiat ( county Stargard in Pomerania ).

Geographical location

Gogolewo located ten kilometers north-east of the district city of Stargard ( Stargard in Pomerania ) on the Polish national road 20 ( former German Empire Road 158). Stargard Szcz up to Gdynia ( Gdynia ) runs. In the resort side streets lead from Pęzino ( Pansin ) or Kicko ( Kietzig ) coming into the main road.

Less than one mile south of the village is since 1859 the station Gogolewo on the railway line that runs from Stargard to Gdansk.

The flowing past at the eastern edge Krampehl ( Krąpiel ) is also the border with the neighboring Dalewo ( Dahlow ).

History

Until 1945 the up to then called Pegelow place formed a official and the civil registry district in which the neighboring community Dahlow was miteingegliedert. He lay in the district of Pomerania in the district of Stettin Prussian province of Pomerania.

The municipality then Pegelo owned the Vorwerk Birkhof (Polish: BrzeĹşno ), about 4.5 kilometers southwest located. In 1933 Pegelow counted 495 inhabitants, in 1939 there were already 527 Last German mayor was the farmer Gustav Hein.

In 1945 Pegelow received the Polish name Gogolewo. The village is now part of Gmina Marianowo in powiat Stargardzki in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship (Stettin 1975-1998 Voivodeship ).

Parish Church

Pegelow was an old church village. In predominantly Protestant population, the parish belonged until 1945 to the church district Freiwalde in Pomerania (Polish: Chociwel ) Ostsprengel in the ecclesiastical province of the Church of the Old Prussian Pomerania Union. In 1940 the parish counted a total of 1175 members of the congregation, of which 495 and 409 to the vicarage to Dahlower and 291 calculated for Wulkow branch church.

Since 1945, live in Gogolewo predominantly Catholic church members. The parish is now part of the Office of the Dean - Wschód Stargard ( Stargard -east) in the Archdiocese of Szczecin - Pomerania of the Catholic Church in Poland. Evangelical Church members are the parish in the Trinity Church in Stettin in the diocese of Breslau Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland.

For Pegelow and the neighboring Dahlow there was before 1945 a common school, Last German teacher was Paul Knoll.
