Golden Grove (ship)

The Golden Grove was a supply ship in the First Fleet. It was built in 1780 in Whitby. During the trip to Australia William Sharp was the captain of the ship. Also on board was the chaplain Richard Johnson and his wife and his servants.

The ship left Portsmouth on 13 May 1787 reached Port Jackson in Australia on 26 January 1788. On October 2, 1788 she transported 21 male and 11 female convicts on Norfolk Island, where there was another penal colony, and returned on 25 October to Port Jackson back.

On November 19, 1788 she left Port Jackson and sailed together with the Fishburn to which they lost contact on 11 April 1789. The Golden Grove reached England on June 9, 1789.
