Golden Sands

Golden Sands ( [ zɫatni pjasɐtsi ], Bulgarian Златни пясъци, " gold beach ", literally actually "Golden Sands ", in Bulgaria often just called Slatni ) is the name of a beach on the Black Sea 18 km north of Varna, Bulgaria, and the Name a tourist town on the same beach.

Beach

The Gold beach is 3.5 km long and in places up to 100 m wide. The name is probably due to the shimmering gold, fine-grained sand, which comes from the crushed shells. Unlike the more southerly sun beach the name of the beach is certainly not an invention of the tourism industry, but was common centuries ago.

Place

To big hotels, supermarkets and restaurants lined up with the promenades of Golden Sands. Except for a small Orthodox chapel, there is no non-touristic development, the staff of the facilities located almost all outside the town.

The peak season in gold beach is from June to August, and the bathing season from mid-May to mid-October. Meanwhile, some luxury apartment homes were built on the beach or under construction. This gold beach will offer a year-round habitation of the city.

For several years the Gold beach is also known as the " New shooter in the Balkans". This is because that the gold beach finds more than ten different clubs, and "Mallorca - Stars" as Jürgen Drews, Mickie Krause, Markus Becker etc. here regularly occur in the summer. In the center of Golden Sands is located, since 2004, the largest party area in Bulgaria.

Shops

At the Gold beach full of shops are present, which are a mixture of shops and weekly market. A store chain with four stores in gold beach are the Aldi markets, but except for the name and the logo have nothing in common with the German Aldi markets. Even otherwise, there are many imitations of German supermarket chains such as Spar ( economy off Sub ), Lidl ( Lidi ), Penny ( Renny, even with the slogan More for your money ), Kaufland ( Kaufland ) and Aldi in another imitation, Aldo.

Others

The gold is beach of Albena, another tourist town, seven kilometers away. Near the Gold beach is the natural park gold beach.

Gold beach magazine

In the hotels at the gold beach can be found for free at the reception before the BB magazine. This holiday magazine is the only German journal, where you can read the latest information on events at the gold beach and articles about the region of the Bulgarian Black Sea coast.

Structures

2007 an observation tower with tower restaurant was built for 30 million leva, which is a replica of the Eiffel Tower in 1:10 scale.
