Gonggar Choide Monastery

The monastery Gongkar Chode ( Tib: chos sde gong dkar, Qoide; Chinese曲 德 寺, Pinyin Qude si and si Gongga Qude贡嘎 曲 德 寺, Gongga Qude si) or Gongkar Dorjeden (Tibetan: rdo rje Gong dkar gdan ) or Dorjeden Monastery (Tib. rdo rje gdan dgon pa Chinese Duojidan si多吉丹 寺) is a Buddhist monastery in the county Gongkar in the Tibet Autonomous Region in the People's Republic of China. It belongs to the Sakya school of Tibetan Buddhism ( Vajrayana ). The monastery was founded in 1464 by Dorjedenpa Kunga Namgyel ( Gongkar Dorjedenpa ) ( 1432-1496 ). In its premises newer murals with the twelve deeds of the Buddha Shakyamuni and original wall paintings can be seen from the "Five venerable masters " of the Sakya tradition and Sonam Gyeltshen (1386-1434) in Kyenri style.

Since 2013 it is on the list of historic monuments of the People's Republic of China.
