Gongsun Du

Gongsun Du ( Chinese公孙 度, Pinyin Gongsun you; † 204 ) was a general in the late Eastern Han Dynasty.

He hit his first battles to 189 AD under Dong Zhuo for his puppet emperor Liu Bian ( the previous Prince of Hongnong ). Dong Zhuo was planning an expansion into Korea and commissioned Gongsun you with the campaign, which was a success. Gongsun You taught there a Lelang the Commandery.

He later took on Dong Zhuo's command, the prefectures in Liaodong (in the north of the Korean Peninsula) and so gradually gained power in the Northeast. He sent Gongsun Muo and Zhang Pi out to southern Korea to gain more land. So he became one of the most powerful governors in the late Han period. After his death, his son Gongsun Kang took over control of the far north- east and divided the Lelang Commandery. The southern half formed henceforth own, Daifang called headquarters.
