Gonzalo Fierro

Gonzalo Antonio Fierro Caniullán ( born March 21, 1983 in Santiago de Chile) is a Chilean football player. Since 2012 is the winger in the Chilean first division side Colo -Colo under contract.

Career

Association

Fierro began his professional career in 2002 in the Chilean top club Colo -Colo. Even before he played in the youth department. In the following years he played with many experienced players like Humberto Suazo, Matias Fernandez and Alexis Sanchez. In the years 2002 ( Clausura ), 2006 ( Apertura & Clausura ) and 2007 ( Apertura & Clausura ) he could win with Colo- Colo in the national championship. Gradually developed Fierro is a key player at the club. However, not only nationally, but also continental he had heard from him. In the historic 2-0 victory of his team on 20 March 2008 in the Copa Libertadores against Boca Juniors CA the winger became one of the match player. On 26 August 2008 Fierro joined the Brazilian club Flamengo tip. Thus he became the first Chilean footballer in the dress of the club. Only on 5 April 2009, he came in the state championship for his first competitive match use. His second chance to prove themselves in the new league was the only midfielder on 12 July of the same year, where he da Silva wanted to replace the cast after a lending Ibson Barreto. Fierro scored in the match against Sao Paulo after a short time his first goal for Flamengo. Meanwhile he comes on more missions. After the 2009 season, he celebrated the first Chilean to Nelson Tapia, Elias Figueroa and Claudio Maldonado a Brazilian championship.

National

2006 Fierro first played for the Chilean national team. Shortly thereafter, he was appointed by then- coach Nelson Acosta in the squad for the Copa America 2007. He came in the first round and in the quarter-finals, while 1:6 against Brazil for use. Since then he comes to regular inserts in the dress of his native country. In May 2010, coach Marcelo Bielsa him nominated for the World Cup in South Africa. The team moved one to the last sixteen and retired from there against Brazil. Fierro came throughout the tournament as the only outfield player Chiles never use.
