Goran Višnjić

Goran Visnjic ( born September 9, 1972 in Šibenik, SFR Yugoslavia) is a Croatian actor.

Life and career

Goran Visnjic began with nine years with the acting, but not until the age of 21 he achieved a breakthrough at a casting for Hamlet, in which he played the role of Laertes. In the following years he won three times the Croatian Award for Best Actor and the Orlando- price (the Croatian Tony Award).

He is fluent in English and French.

His best-known roles are those of Dr. Luka Kovač in the television series ER - Emergency Room and the beloved of Nicole Kidman in Practical Magic.

Visnjic is also committed to animal welfare. He is currently a member of the International Fund for Animal Welfare, the Croatian Animal Protection Group and the Ambassador of PETA in Eastern Europe.

Goran Visnjic is since 1999 with the sculptor Ivana Vrdoljak, the daughter of the director Antun Vrdoljak, married. The couple lives in Los Angeles. They adopted a little boy. Visnjic also has a daughter, who emerged from a brief liaison.
