Gorgoneion Group

The Gorgoneion group was designated a Notnamen group of ancient Greek vases painters who decorated their works in the Corinthian black-figure - style. She created her works during the Mittelkorinthischen phase of the style ( approximately 600-575 BC), their works are about 580 BC. The Gorgoneion group decorated mainly shells and craters. Characteristic and its name to the group were the insides of the shells, which were usually painted with a Gorgon. Main champion of the group was the Cavalcade Painter.
