History

Görtelsdorf was first mentioned in 1292 as " Gurtilerisdorf " in the foundation charter of the monastery Grüssau. It was one of the 14 villages that were transferred to the monastery with all the duties, rights and obligations, together with the city of Liebau Duke Bolko I and formed the basis of the pin state. Together with the Duchy of Świdnica and Jawor it passed in 1392 to the Crown of Bohemia. After the First Silesian War, it fell in 1742 together with Silesia to Prussia. 1810, the monastery was secularized. After the reorganization of Prussia in 1815 it belonged to the province of Silesia and was from 1816 the county Landeshut incorporated, with which it was connected until 1945. It formed its own country parish, which belonged to the administrative district Kleinhennersdorf since 1874. 1939 lived 434 inhabitants in Görtelsdorf.

As a result of World War II Görtelsdorf fell in 1945 as almost all of Silesia to Poland and was renamed Gorzeszów. The German population was expelled. The new inhabitants were partly displaced persons from eastern Poland. 1975-1998 belonged to Gorzeszów Voivodeship Jelenia Gora.
