Gospelmagic

Gospel Magic is a special kind of magic in the magical artistic performances Christians by the Christian faith and the biblical doctrine illustrate and convey. Here, the term is from Gospel (of English: Good News ) and Magic (of English: magic ) together, as the core message of the Gospel Magic is the Good News of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

In the Bible, Jesus Christ used stories and parables for his message. Likewise also intends Gospel Magic to convey the message of Jesus Christ and visually entertaining. The artists take great care that the audience is clear that they themselves do not possess any supernatural abilities. The effects are not a power of evidence, but illustration. The magic trick or illusion accompanies this theological aspect and contributes to better understanding.

Gospel Magic is not tied to a branch of magic, but can be applied in the service, for example in the form of stage performances, street magic, at the table, or for children of pastors or priests to illustrate a sermon. It is an application of magic in the context of Christianity.

Associations

Worldwide, Gospel Magic artists organize the International Fellowship of Christian Magicians ( FCM), which was founded in 1953, and the journal The Christian Conjuror magazine publishes monthly and in the Catholic Magicians ' Guild.

History

An early mention of the use of modern magic for religious education purposes in the literature can be found in the autobiographical work Memories of 1929 canonized by the Catholic Church Italian Giovanni Melchiorre Bosco ( Don Bosco, 1815-1888 ). Even more impressive, his approach in the biography Memorie biografiche is described. Don Bosco is revered among others, as the patron saint of the stage magician because of his magic. Worldwide occur on the feast of Don Bosco Catholic magician on his honor at charity events for the benefit of underprivileged children and youth.
