Gostyń, West Pomeranian Voivodeship

Gostyń ( German wholesale Justin ) is a village in the municipality Świerzno ( Schwirsen ) in the powiat Kamieński ( Pomerania in Pomerania ) in Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship.

Geographical location

Gostyń located in Pomerania, eight kilometers north of the village Świerzno ( Schwirsen ), 13 kilometers northeast of the town of Kamien Pomorski ( Pomerania in Pomerania ) and 73 kilometers north of Szczecin. The place is located only a few kilometers south of the Baltic Sea coast and the seaside resort Pobierowo ( Poberow ).

History

The village was once a noble residence. 1369 the village is mentioned as Kirchdorf, since 1449 is a fiefdom of the Brockhusen family.

In 1930 there were in the town of Gross Justin six residences, bringing together 84 residential buildings were: Auf der Heide, Station Great Justin, In Knurrbusch, Great Justin, Kamp and Turney. The latter city was established as a result of carried out in 1850 separation. In the year 1925 670 inhabitants were counted in the town of Gross Justin, which were distributed to 133 households. In 1933 lived in Great Justin 637 inhabitants, and in 1939 the town had 618 inhabitants.

In 1945 the previously German place under Polish administration and renamed Gostyń Wielki and 1946 in Gostyń. The German population was expelled. From 1945 to 1954, the city was the seat of the municipality Gostyń. In 1999 the place for West Pomeranian Voivodeship and powiat Kamieński.

Church

Under the influence of the local pastor Albert Frederick Henry David Hollaz (1811-1849), who came in 1838 to Great Justin, appeared in 1847 from a part of the church members from the Evangelical Church of Pomerania and joined the Altlutheranern to. Around the year 1861 there were in Great Justin 300 Old Lutherans. In 1925, known from the 670 inhabitants of the town, only 393 ( 58.7 %) to the Protestant faith, and was a resident Catholic. School

Great Justin had its own elementary school until 1945.
