Gouden Bocht

The Golden Curve (Dutch goud for gold, bocht for bending, curve, bay ) is the most prestigious part of the Amsterdam Herengracht, which originated during the fourth expansion of the city. During the Golden Age and the 18th century, the Golden Curve was inhabited by the richest Amsterdam patricians and merchants.

History

1663 reasons of the Golden Curve in the urban expansion on Herengracht were released in the region between the Leidsestraat and the Vijzelstraat for construction.
