Gouesnou

Gouesnou ( Gouenoù Breton ) is a commune in the Finistère department in Brittany with 6024 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011). It belongs to the district Brest, in the canton of Brest- L'Hermitage - Gouesnou and community association Brest métropole océane.

Geography

The municipality is located in the west of Brittany in the metropolitan area of ​​the city of Brest on the banks of the river Penfeld. Both the city center of Brest and the Rade de Brest are only a few kilometers south-west, the Atlantic Ocean coast at the beginning of the English Channel about 18 kilometers north.

Transport links

The nearest slopes to the highway-like -laned roads E 50 (Rennes - Brest) and E 60 (Nantes- Brest) are located a few kilometers south of the village on the north-eastern outskirts of Brest, where they meet. The Departmental outgoing here Routes D13 and D788 direction after Plouguerneau Lesneven lead west and east past the village center.

The Gare de Brest railway station is TGV Atlantique station and regional train station in the net of the TER Bretagne and immediately south of the village there is the Brest Airport.

Monuments
