Goussainville, Val-d'Oise

Goussainville is a commune with 31 129 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Val- d'Oise in the Île- de -France region; it belongs to Arrondissement Sarcelles and Canton Goussainville.

Neighboring communities of Goussainville are Fontenay -en- Parisis in the north, Louvres in the east, Roissy -en -France in the Southeast, Le Thillay in the south, Gonesse in the southwest and Bouqueval in the West.

History

On June 3, 1973 crashed during the Paris Air Show a machine of the Soviet-type Tupolev Tu -144 over the city from and destroyed 15 buildings - including a school, which was closed that day but luckily. The six crew members aboard and eight people on the ground were killed. After the Paris-Charles -de- Gaulle was opened, the old town was abandoned more and more and got the city to the north a new center.
