Grafton is a village ( Village ) in Ozaukee County in the southeast of the U.S. state of Wisconsin and part of the Milwaukee metropolitan area. The population was recorded in the census in 2000, 10,312.

History

Historical buildings

In Grafton Grafton Flour Mill is historic, dating from the 19th century grain mill, is at 14th Avenue and was accepted as a historical monument with the number 83,003,409 on 30 June 1983 by the National Register of Historic Places.

According to the census of 2000, there were 10,312 people in Grafton. Of these, 28 people were living in collective centers, the other residents living in 4,048 households and 2,878 families. The population density was 986 per square kilometer. In place of 4,165 residential units were recorded. Among the population was 97.72 percent White, 0.28 percent African American, 0.24 percent of American Indians, Asians, 0.75 percent and 0.38 percent of other ethnic groups; 0.63 percent reported belonging to several ethnic groups.

Among the 4,048 households 34.5 percent of children were under 18 years; 24.2 percent were single-person households. The average household size was 2.54 and the average family size 3.06.

The population was spread out with 26.3 percent under the age of 18, 7.0 percent from 18 to 24, 31.4 percent 25-44 years, 23.5 percent from 45 to 64 years and 11.7 percent of 65 years or older. The median age was 37 years.

The median household income was $ 53,918, the median family income $ 65,825. The per capita income in Grafton was $ 25,948. Under the poverty line lived 1.7 percent of the population.
