Grand Cess

Grand Cess is a city in the West African Republic of Liberia in Grand Kru County. The majority of the approximately 11,000 inhabitants city is provided by the people of the Kru. Administratively belongs to the metropolitan area and the fishing town located 18 km east Wedabo. The city was founded in 1915 has the highest percentage share of the population of Catholics in Liberia, the city belongs to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Cape Palmas.

The fringed by sandy beaches, mangrove swamps and numerous rocky cliffs of the coast is known as Upper Kru Coast. Grand Cess is located immediately east of the mouth of the Grand Cess River into the Atlantic Ocean and has a long tradition as a fishing center. On the eastern edge of the city, a small airfield was built in the 1950s. In the village there are several churches and a school center. On the northern edge of the city's Rally Time Hospital was built after the Civil War.
