Grand Morin

The river in Coulommiers

The Grand Morin, sometimes just called Morin, is a river in France, which runs in Champagne - Ardenne Ile- de -France. It rises in the municipality of Lachy and drains generally in a westerly direction. The river flows after 118 kilometers at Condé- Sainte- Libiaire as a left tributary of the Marne. On his way he crosses the departments of Marne and Seine- et- Marne.

In the mouth region, from Saint- Germain- sur- Morin, he is accompanied by the Lateral Canal du Grand Morin, which opens at Esbly in the Canal de Meaux à Chalifert. These channels are, however, no longer used for navigation.
