Grant is a city and the county seat ( county seat ) of the Perkins County in the U.S. state of Nebraska.

History

After Grant was established in 1886, you had to move a short time later with the entire city about 1 km in a southerly direction to get connection to the rail network of the railway. As 1887 Perkins County was, Grant was elected as the County Seat.

Geography

Grant is located in southwestern Nebraska about 30 km south of Interstate 80, it has links to the Nebraska State Highways 23 and 61 The border with Colorado is located about 28 km west of the city.

Demography

According to census of 2000, Grant has 1,225 inhabitants, of whom 568 men and 657 women.
