Granville Gordon, 13th Marquess of Huntly

Granville Charles Gomer Gordon, 13th Marquess of Huntly ( born February 4, 1944), until 1987 known by the courtesy title Earl of Aboyne, is a British peer and politician of the Conservative Party.

Life and career

Gordon was Marquess of Huntly was born on 4 February 1944 as a son of Douglas Gordon, 12, with the Honourable Pamela Mary, daughter of James Berry, 1st Viscount Kemsley. He attended Gordonstoun School.

He is patron ( patron ) of the Institute of Commercial Management, Chairman ( Chairman ) Cock of the North Liqueur Co Ltd and Director of Ampton Investments Ltd.. Gordon is the Chief of the Clan Gordon and Premier Marquess of Scotland.

Gordon is currently one of the Hereditary Peerage Association not to.

Membership in the House of Lords

After the death of his father in 1987 he inherited the title and the time associated seat in the House of Lords. There he took the first time on January 13, 1988 at one meeting. His inaugural address was delivered on 16 March 1988 on Business Education.

He reported in the following years only sporadically word. He spoke about the Scottish economy of Hong Kong and southern China. Recently he reported on several occasions in 1994 to State Hospitals ( Scotland ) Bill [HL ] to speak.

His seat he lost by the House of Lords Act 1999. For one of the remaining seats he had not set up for election. In the Register of Hereditary Peers it is charted.

Family

Gordon married on January 19, 1972 Jane Elizabeth Angela, the daughter of Alistair Monteith Gibb. Together they have a son, Alastair Gordon, Earl of Aboyne and two daughters. The marriage ended in divorce in 1990.

Gordon married on 15 February 1991 Catheryn Kindersley, from the family of the Barons Kindersley, formerly Mrs. Robert Lennon Millbourn 1980. They have a daughter.
