Gregorio Carafa

Fra ' Gregorio Carafa della Roccella ( born March 17, 1615 Castelvetere; † July 21, 1690 in Valletta) was the 62nd Grand Master of the Order of Malta.

He came from the Italian noble family Carafa, the Duke of Rocella. He was the son of Girolamo Carafa, Marquis of Castelvetere and mother Diana Vittori Borghese. This was a niece of Paul V. He was the nephew of Bishop Carlo Carafa. His brothers were the Cardinals Carafa della Spina Fortunato Ilario and Carlo Carafa della Spina.

He entered the Order of Malta and was a member of the Italian tongue. After the death of the Grand Master Nicolas Cotoner he was elected on May 2, 1680 to his successor. He died on 21 July 1690 in Valletta and was buried in the St. Catherine's chapel within the St. John 's Co-Cathedral.
