Gregory Walcott

Gregory Walcott (actually Bernard Mattox, born January 13, 1928 in Wendell, North Carolina ) is an American actor.

Life

Walcott grew up in North Carolina and had his film debut, for which he had gone to Hollywood by hitchhiking and there initially played with semi- professional ensembles, during his time with the U.S. Army; in Battle Cry, he played an officer. Other roles followed similarly stored in war films and ( zunehmnend frequently) Western. Very often he was cast in guest roles of numerous television series, as in Bonanza, Maverick, Wagon Train, High Chaparral, at the foot of the Blue Mountains, The Dakotas and several others. Through his roles in one thousand miles of dust, he met Clint Eastwood know in whose later films he repeatedly received a role.

During the TV season 1961/1962 Walcott was one of the main characters of the series detective police station 87; in consequence, deals multiplied this genre. Less frequently, but regularly, you also saw him in movies. In addition to a role in the trash film Plan 9 from outer space, he played eg for Steven Spielberg's The Sugarland Express and the Oscar-winning Norma Rae - A woman is her husband. Walcott is an ordained priest of his faith community. 2003 published his memoirs Hollywood Adventures. With its 1954 geheirateten wife he has three children.
