The Institute Polytechnique de Grenoble ( Grenoble INP group ) was founded in 2007 and is the successor of the Institut national polytechnique de Grenoble ( Grenoble INP, INPG ). It is a higher education institution in the French city of Grenoble, which summarizes several engineering schools. After the INP Grenoble has changed its name and its status, there is in France with Nancy and Toulouse only two " INP ". Along with these, the Institute Polytechnique de Grenoble two-year so-called integrated preparatory classes that prepare them for then a further 3 -year engineering degree.

The INP Grenoble was founded in 1971 and offered with its nine Grande écoles and two departments eleven engineering courses:

  • EFPG: Paper Technology, Printing Technology and Graphics
  • ENSEEG: materials science, electrochemistry, chemical engineering
  • ENSERG: Electronics and Information Technology
  • ENSGI: Product Design and Manufacturing Engineering
  • ENSHMG: fluid mechanics, mechanical engineering, environmental
  • ENSIEG: Energy Technology and Information Processing
  • ENSIMAG: computer science and applied mathematics
  • ENSPG: Applied Physics and Nuclear Engineering
  • ESISAR: Integrated Systems
  • Department of Telecommunications ( " INP Grenoble Telecom " ): computer science, electronics, telecommunications technology
  • Department of Nanotechnology ( " INP Grenoble Nanotech " ): Nanotechnology

In the winter semester 2008, the university Grenoble INP composite was restructured into six engineering schools and is now composed of:

  • École nationale supérieure de l' énergie, l' eau et l' environnement ( ENSE ³)
  • École nationale supérieure d' informatique et de Mathématiques appliquées de Grenoble ( ENSIMAG )
  • École nationale supérieure de systèmes Avances et réseaux ( ESISAR )
  • École nationale supérieure de genie industriel ( ENSGI )
  • International École du papier, de la communication et des imprimée biomatériaux ( Pagora, formerly EFPG )
  • École nationale supérieure de physique, électronique et matériaux ( Phelma, emerged from ENSERG, ENSPG and ENSEEG )

With the exception of ESISAR in Valence all part of institutions located in Grenoble together on the campus of Saint -Martin- d'Hères. They lend an Engineering graduate of the INPG in their respective fields. The state final master can be purchased through a cooperation with the University Joseph Fourier.

Research

On INP Grenoble 35 research laboratories are located, work together for the most part with the national research organization CNRS and Grenoble University Joseph Fourier.
