Grétar Steinsson (2007)

Rafn Steinsson Grétar ( born January 9, 1982 in Siglufjörður ) is an Icelandic football player.

Career

Association

His professional career began in the 2000 /01 season in Iceland ÍA Akranes. Previously, he was already in the youth department. Before he came to Akranes, he played at youth level in his hometown at KS Siglufjörður and already came here to first stakes in men's area. During winter break 2004/05 season he moved to the BSC Young Boys in Switzerland. Only a short time later in August 2005 carried the renewed move to AZ Alkmaar. To the Dutch it developed as a performer and was interesting for other European clubs. In January 2008, the Bolton Wanderers secured the services of defender for about four million. In England Grétar played with the Wanderers against relegation. The league was managed by a strong team performance and point gains at the end of the season.

For the 2012/13 season his change in the Turkish Süper Lig Kayserispor representatives to the Central Anatolian was announced. After one season he left Kayserispor.

National

2002 Grétar came to his debut for the Icelandic national football team. During a friendly match against Brazil, he came off the bench and was able to celebrate his first goal in the national jersey in the same game.
