Gretl Theimer

Gretl Theimer ( born November 27, 1910 in Vienna, † May 14, 1972 in Munich) was an Austrian actress and singer.

Life

After a ballet training Gretl Theimer danced in the children's ballet of the Vienna State Opera. She made a name for himself first as an operetta singer of Austrian and German stages.

Through the Music Film Two hearts in three-quarter time, one of the first sound films, Gretl Theimer was a allbekannter movie star. The eponymous waltz by Robert Stolz, she sang together with the actor Walter Janssen, was also one of the most successful hit of the year 1930. Thereafter saw Gretl Theimer as jaunty and coveted Maderl very common in Wiener movies and other entertainment films of the 1930s.

After about a decade, her film career seemed to be completely finished. Only in the fifties and sixties, they retook some usually very small film roles.

Your tomb is located at the Munich Forest Cemetery.
