Greaves is a district of the city of Tangier cottage in the south of the district of Stendal, in Saxony -Anhalt ( Germany ).
Geography
The place is located close to the left bank of the Elbe between Tangerhütte and Genthin. The same forms the border with the county Jerichower country. The towns of Stendal and Tangermünde lie north of greaves.
History
The name of the place greaves is Wendish origin, for the year 987 a castle as an outpost is occupied against the Wends. By 1200, the church was built Griebener.
