Grimbergen (beer)

Grimbergen is a Belgian abbey beer, brewed since 1958 by the Belgian brewery group Alken-Maes. In the Norbertine Abbey of Saint Norbert of Xanten in Grimbergen beer was brewed in 1128 for the first time in the year. The site brewery ceased operation since the French Revolution in the 18th century; the original brewery in the monastery of Norbertinermönche now serves as a beer museum.
